What You’ll Do

As an Audit Intern, you will be responsible for assisting with the Audit Department in support functions of Vail & Park, P.C. CPA’s. This includes but is not limited to:

Gaining a wide range of exposure to the public accounting field by working with staff, seniors, managers, and partners. You will be assigned to less complex audit assignments initially. Through gained experience and knowledge, you will be given more advanced assignments and greater responsibilities based off your performance.

Responsibilities & Objectives

Become familiar with the Firm’s policies and procedures.

  • Understand the rules, regulations, and code of professional conduct of the AICPA.
  • Obtain exposure to the types of audit engagements performed by the Firm.
  • Become familiar with the Firm technology, tax software, and time and billing software.
  • Become familiar with the Firm standards for audit working paper preparation.
  • Obtain a general knowledge of the practice of public accounting and providing client services.
  • Obtain necessary CPE for audit projects assigned to you.
  • Perform other duties as assigned at times by the senior accountants, managers, or partners.

Required Skills

Strong interpersonal skills: ability to work well in a team environment; and willingness to learn new skills.
Strong organizational skills: ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously; and keep track of deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management at all times. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience using accounting software (FX Engagement & Advance Flow) or similar financial reporting software is preferred.
