FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
A peer review is an independent evaluation of a CPA firm's accounting and auditing practice conducted by another CPA firm. It is required by the AICPA and most state CPA societies for firms that issue audit, review, or compilation reports. The goal is to assess whether the firm's quality control system meets professional standards.
A system review is more comprehensive — it evaluates the firm's entire quality control system and examines a sample of engagements. An engagement review is more limited, evaluating only specific engagements (typically reviews and compilations) without assessing the firm's broader quality control system.
Most firms enrolled in the AICPA Peer Review Program are reviewed every three years. First-time reviews typically occur within 18 months of a firm's first eligible engagement.
We provide remediation support — helping your firm understand the findings, implement corrective actions, and respond to the administering entity. Our goal is to turn a peer review finding into an opportunity to strengthen your practice.
Yes. We have specialized expertise reviewing firms that perform Yellow Book (GAS) audits, Single Audits, and nonprofit audit engagements — areas with unique requirements and elevated scrutiny.
